Welcome, CP Blotter visitors!

Huh. Are we sure that’s “Blotter” and not “Blotto”? Deciding to make this blog today’s Blog o’ the Day makes me wonder what Corey’s been drinking. I do appreciate it, tho.

A warm welcome to all who stop by, and apologies for the dusty, barren desolation that greets you here at the moment. Posting’s pretty sparse because I’m currently on hiatus while I shop around for a domain, webhost, and maybe new blogging software. I expect to be back in business in another month or two.

If you’d care to see more of — whatever it is that I do, please visit Norwegianity and take a peek at the Tildified corner.

Meanwhile, to thank you for your time and as a souvenir of your visit to TILD~ , here’s a little graphic for you, which you should feel free to copy and use however and whenever you wish.

Like when the office bozo emails everybody in your department that hy-larious “I’d rather hunt with Dick Cheney than ride with Ted Kennedy” sign. Hooboy, that’ s a good one! Send him this back:

Whee-doggies, looks like we’re having some fun now!

Thanks for stopping by, and please come back again.

Heard it on the X

Hey; just stopping by for a minute. A little update on how the hiatus is going. At this moment, anyway, it can all be summed up in one word: Bliss. And that’s because I’ve been listening to Heard It On the X , the latest from Los Super Seven, aka the Gods in my personal musical pantheon.

Like the song said [on the first LS7 cd] :

Canta me canciones de valor
En este rincon del cielo
Dejo mi cariño y amor

–”Rio de Tenampa”

Enjoy enjoy enjoy!

Love Was Everything

Maybe it was to learn how to love
Maybe it was to learn how to leave
Maybe it was for the games we played
Maybe it was to learn how to choose
Maybe it was to learn how to lose
Maybe it was for the love we made

Love was everything they said it would be
Love made sweet and sad the same
But love forgot to make me too blind to see
You’re chickening out aren’t you?
You’re bangin’ on the beach like an old tin drum
I can’t wait for you to make
The whole kingdom come
So I’m leaving

Maybe it was to learn how to fight
Maybe it was to lessen our pride
Maybe it’s just nature’s way
Maybe it was to learn how to laugh
Maybe it was to learn to cry
Maybe it was for the love we made

Love was everything they said it would be
Love made sweet and sad the same
But love forgot to make me too blind to see
You’re chickening out aren’t you?
You’re bangin’ on the beach like an old tin drum
I can’t wait for you to make
The whole kingdom come
So I’m leaving

First I turn to you
Then I turn away
So you try to hurt me back
Oh it breaks your body down
So you try to love bigger,
Better, still
But it’s too late

So take a lesson from the strangeness you feel
And know you’ll never be the same
And find it in your heart to kneel down and say
I gave my love, didn’t I?
And I gave it big…sometimes
And I gave it in my own sweet time
I’m just leaving

Jericho

“I’ll try to keep myself open up to you”
That’s a promise that I made to Love
When it was new
“Just like Jericho” I said
“Let these walls come tumbling down”
I said it like I finally found the way
To keep the good feelings alive
I said it like it was something to strive for.

I’ll try to keep myself open up to you
And approve your self expression
I need that, too
I need your confidence, baby
And the gift of your extra time
In turn I’ll give you mine
Sweet darling, it’s a rich exchange
It seems to me
It’s a warm arrangement!

Anyone will tell you
Just how hard it is to make and keep a friend
Maybe they’ll short sell you
Or maybe it’s you
Judas, in the end
When you just can no longer pretend
That you’re getting what you need
Or you’re giving out anything for them to grow and feed on.

I’ll try to keep myself open up to you
It gets easier and easier to do
Just like Jericho
Let these walls come tumbling down now
Let them fall right on the ground
Let all these dogs go running free
The wild and the gentle dogs
Kenneled in me.

Joni Mitchell
