Well, Tild, close, for I completely remember 12 cents and have in fact described those glory days to Lucy. Also, 25 cents for a double spectacular giant issue of Dennis the Menace.

Whereas I picked up a Pals & Gals Double Digest for L. yesterday and it was ]]gaaack[[ $3.69.

Patricia, you're being wa-a-y too kind, but thank you all the same.

The main thing I wanted to do with this label is figure out how to recreate as exactly as possible the lettering on the Safe Hit brand Texas vegetables crate label. All the lettering on those old crate labels was hand painted. (on the originals I mean). They didn't just choose a font and pick the size and the colors, press a key and apply it to the image; it was all done by hand, which I think is flat out amazing. Anyways, I tried, and I think I got the colors right, but it's far from a 100% faithful re-creation.

The main thing was that I had fun, and that you like it, and I even learned a thing or 2 about creating text effects, so whoo-hoo! Thanks for giving me the opportunity.

Lucy, you have really good taste in comics! Those are all favorites of mine too. I have loved Archie comics since I was a little girl. Did you know that when I was 10 years old comic books cost only 10 cents?? Yup. Really. But then, you must remember that your Auntie Tild is very very very very very very very old.

Hugs to you, Lucy, and to all your family too. We love Dinged Corners!!

We've already gotten several emails about how gorgeous this label is. For now I'm going to use it in the profile spot and soon we'll figure out how to display the Dinged Corners brand more prominently. Not sure how to thank you...but we WILL think of something. PS Our baseball-fan daughter Lucy says, "thank you for doing this. It is so artistic. It reminds us a little of old comics with the good art. I like playing catch with my mom and reading Peanuts, Little Archie, Betty and Veronica, Calvin and Hobbes and other comics that sometimes have baseball."
