My new favorite online destination, Smashing Magazine offers up 50 — count ‘em — 50 free desktop wallpapers with calendars for the month of November.  Each is downloadable in a variety of desktop resolutions, with calendar or without.

The designer, Mark Kirwan of UK art agency Persona expands on  “Geometric tribute to Guy”:

“The design is loosely based around Guy Fawkes night (November 5th) and the many firework displays that are part and parcel of the evenings’ celebrations. I was interested by the inherent beauty of fireworks and the way in which they explode, hence the abstract, geometric style of the imagery. I opted for a warm colour palette to give the wallpaper a sense of cosiness, a feeling I recall from many ‘Bonfire nights’ of my youth.”

Beautiful, and it so conveys the celebratory mood I’m feeling today on this glorious day after a 4th of November to remember.   Ooooh.  Aaaaah.
