See how Glenn Beck cleverly alerts viewers that he’s talking about commie stuff?
Yeah, we’re already down with that, Glenn.

“Rush Limbaugh has posted a transcript of his remarks on-air today acknowledging the conservative voices who have spoken up in his defense. It is a group in whose good company we are proud to be counted.”

Nailing Rush to the Republican’t party is a brilliant tactic, you say.
Well, please remember who did it first, willya?! Two years ago.
(Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh = same difference.)
Instead of paying lip service to the outraged multitudes by assuring us that Coulter is nothing more than a fringe wacko, a minor character, a mere entertainer who lays it on a little thick at times, Republicans should embrace Ann Coulter as the poster girl for true core Republican beliefs and values that she actually is.

My theory is that at one point people thought Ann was good lookin’. Then when they heard her speak such controversial and disagreeable things, it caused a massive amount of cognitive dissonance. How could someone so good lookin’ be so evil? The mind reconciled itself:
People that continued to believe in her hotness started believing what she wrote, while those who disgreed with her politics began seeing her as “horse-faced”(unattractive). As she becomes less attractive over time, the cognitive dissonance over the hotness/evil disconnect becomes negligible, and her ability to lure moderates to her cause like Greek sailor to siren is marginalized.
Of course, if this were true universally, Rush Limbaugh would be long past irrelevant. So there are flaws in my theory.
I think the righties point to their adoration of Limbaugh as an example of how fair-minded they REALLY are (as they continue to howl “But Michael Moore/Al Gore/Rosie O’Donnell is FAT!”) In other words: See? It’s not fatness per se that we find disgusting and worthy only of ridicule.–it’s that islamofascist librul Demoncrat fatness we hate!
Hey DAV, what did you think of Rolcats?
I dig the Rolcats!
