Longtime readers may have noticed how literal-minded your kindly old Auntie Tild is. There doesn’t seem to be anything I can do about that, much as I’d like to. Here’s a good example: Yesterday Spot mentioned “Norm on Death Row” as an alternate title for this post.
I read the words ‘death row’ and immediately envision Jimmy Cagney and Pat O’Brien walking “the last mile” at the conclusion of the terrific 1938 movie Angels With Dirty Faces.
Shortly thereafter, that vision translates itself into this:

Actually I should do penance at the tombs of Huntz Hall and Leo Gorcey for equating them with Norm Coleman and his lawyers.
