Preseident obama has become a nightmare since hes been in office the worst president ever and now he is proposing taking social secuirty benefits away from 70 million people not a very bright idea goes to show that the president does not care about 70 million americans that depend on thier social security each month bascially he is throwing millions of americans out on the streets and making them homeless i was a big supporter of obama and now i am discusted by his actions and if he wants to be reelected he better get it together or get fired from office as a poor president in history.He should be giving funds to social security and not giving it to meaningless bail outs and other countries ,take from the rich and leave the poor alone.

the above is absurd. The audacity of the congress to stand bare faced and say they will not cut taxes on the rich but the middle class, poor and disabled can go to hell is beyond my comprehension of what America has stood for all of my seventy years in this country. As far as Social Security , Medicare, and Medicaid are concerned, the GOP hates these programs, even tho they are the most successful and popular government programs ever created. The GOP has always wanted to destroy Social Security and Medicare, but they’ve never been able to because they know the American people would never stand for it.
Now a Democratic president apparently also thinks it’s OK to cut Social Security , Medicare, and Medicaid, no matter what the American people think. I voted for Obama in 2008, but if he agrees to cuts in SS, or Medicare or Medicaid, he’s no better than the GOP. If he agrees to cuts he will LOSE my vote.
We need a President who will defend Social Security, not gut it. What we need right now is a president like FDR, but it’s become sadly apparent that Obama ain’t it.
It’s gotten to the point where I can’t even recognize my country anymore. I’ll be 59 next month, and I don’t ever recall in my entire life this country going so far off the rails. It feels like we’re living in Crazyland now, 24/7/365. Heaven help us all. ~ Tild
I voted for Barack Obama, and made sure my friends and family also voted in his favor – I also went out of my way to convince my community seniors to give Obama an opportunity and vote for him as well. I am surprised and disappointed at his disregard for seniors and the disabled since he was voted in. I feel as if everything he promised before becoming President has not been fulfilled.
I am hopeful he will stop this attempt to punish the less fortunate – people have worked hard and long for their Medicare benefits. I remember being told as a child you must work to LIVE; but we now live in a country that rewards and shows consideration to those that have hardly worked a day in their lives. What message are you sending Mr. President, if an agreement is not made before the deadline?
Doesn’t anyone understand the Constitution? The President is NOT empowered to control spending. ONLY The Congress controls spending. The President is a butler; read his approx 10 powers and think about it. Everything else believed about the President’s authority is a lie, brainwashed into your minds. Will the President exercise powers that are not lawfully his? Probably because Americans are gutless. They elected him and we will get what we deserve for either doing so or allowing such to happen. If Obama fails to faithfully execute the laws (passed by Congress), he commits an impeachable offense.
The bottom line is that YOU President Obama promised in your speech while running for president that this way of burying the middle classes hopes and dreams had gone far “enough”. “Enough” was the word you yelled and now it is time to live up to this promise. I am a life time Democrat who promises this, cave one more time (in this case by cutting Medicare,Social Security or Medicaid)and I will never again support in time or money any Democratic hopeful! I am a 78 year old female, my family are all gone and my only income is Social Security. I’m having a VERY HARD TIME making ends meet and if my income gets any lower, I don’t know what I’m going to do. Groceries, gas, utilities, etc. keep going up and we haven’t had a raise in Social Security in 2 years. Now, my health has worsened and medicare doesn’t pay enough as it is. My medical bills keep adding up. I’ve worked hard all my life and paid into Social Security and paid taxes probably more than the average wealthy. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? Why such a burden on the Middle Class while the rich are getting richer?
