the F word
No, not that F word. Not this one either, despite it’s current popularity.ÂÂ
No, I’m talking about this F word.
When I force myself to regard this particular F word, and the times I do are surprisingly infrequent (the denial thing and all) the word that might best describe my reaction is transfixed.  As in:ÂÂ
trans·fix (tr
ns-f

)
ÂÂ
(I’m definitely going with #3 here.)
ÂÂ
So, why am I going on and on about this ‘F word’ and being ‘transfixed’,  you might ask?
ÂÂ
The answer lies — as it so often does — with YouTube.ÂÂ
A couple weeks ago I was over there, browsing through the week’s 100 Most Viewed videos when I saw one that …yeah, transfixed me, for lack of a better word. A blend of fascination, and horror, and most of all amazement — amazement that someone had decided to put themselves in front of a camera for such a purpose.   I finally managed to drag myself away to the rest of the week’s most popular videos, but later, and often since then, I’ve thought about that one, so much that I eventually decided to go searching for it. ÂÂ
To see the search results, click:
Search for: “my big fat belly”
Yes, Virginia: There’s an entire subgenre of YouTube videos of people displaying their belly fat.  Is that amazing, or is that amazing?! Well… is ‘amazing’ the word for it?  I don’t know anymore. I watch these videos, and I’m transfixed, and I don’t have any other words to describe what I’m feeling.ÂÂ

Need a change of pace after all that shock ‘n awe ‘n transfixion? Gosh, me too!  Well then, look no further than in the ‘related’ videos category to find this:
Cuz it’s a well known fact that fat people are just naturally funny.   Hey, another F word!ÂÂ
