Michael Brodkorb

Zoinks!

few nights ago, at the remote fortified family compound known as Tildebunkport….

Tild z z z z z z z z z z

“In a much less publicized special election yesterday, Kevin Dahle, a school teacher from Northfield, won the legislative seat held by Gov. Pawlenty’s former lawyer, who is now a state judge…”

~~~
“[Mike Brodkorb's] hard work spreading disinfo and knocking doors for the Republican candidate in what should have been the safe-as-houses GOP stronghold of Lonsdale has contributed to Kevin Dahle’s resounding win of state Senate District 25…”
“The MNGOP tried to hold down turnout, again, by staging another Holiday election in a red district and it backfired.”
~~~

“Pawlenty did everything possible to rig this one, holding off on calling the election as long as legally possible so it would fall during holiday break for the St. Olaf and Carleton students.”

~~~
pawlenty sez I'd have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those meddling kids!
“THE FIRST-EVER MINNESOTA DEMOCRATS EXPOSED “MAN NOT IN THE ARENA” AWARD GOES TO…
Drew Emmer of the Wright County Republican. By his own admission, Drew did nothing to help out with the Republican effort in the SD 25 special election but he wasted no time this morning pointing out how everyone else stumbled…”
~~~

“Dahle’s victory has set off a string of recriminations among Republican Party activists, one side accusing the other of not helping enough…”

mike brodkorb's lament: scooby drew, where were you?ÂÂ

It’s teh Funny!

The months since last fall’s elections have not been kind to Michael Brodkorb, who writes the local “blog” Minnesota Democrats Exposed.  First he suffers the indignity of being himself exposed as the paid GOP operative and party-directed smear merchant  he is.  Then (coincidence or conspiracy?) the local media outlets start to cut way back on links to MDE.   Oh sweet, creamy links that give Mikey that warm all over glow of legitimacy and  validation…where have you gone?
What’s a poor discredited Republican hack with only marginal writing skills supposed to do?
But of course –  it’s time for teh Funny!

MN Observer reviews the current comedy cavalcade in the posts and comments at MDE.

Looks like you got a winner, Mikey — you have tickled Our Miss Katie’s funny bone!   Mmmmmmm….   sweet, creamy, linky Katie…..

Meanwhile, at Mikey MDE’s Supersecret Republican Comedy Workshop and He Man Librul-Haters Club,  the gang has an important visitor!
what next, Karl?

A Question of Hats

mikey's many hats

This is all really just a question of hats.

At any given moment, when scrutinizing the stories Michael Brodkorb posts at MDE the question is not, a la Watergate What did the president know and when did he know it? but rather:

Which hat is Brodkorb wearing and when did he start wearing it?

It’s a good question and one that should have been raised long before now, and by a lot more people, particularly those  in local media outlets.

Brodkorb now seems to think that asking questions is the same thing as attacking MDE:

You are able to attack my work for Mark Kennedy, because FEC rules require expenditures to be public ally reported.  You are able to see that I was paid a one-time fee from Bachmann’s campaign, because it was publicly disclosed. You are able to attack me for my work with the Campaign for St. Paul’s Future, because it was publicly disclosed.

No, Michael, you’ve got this wrong.  The post at Minnesota Monitor does not attack MDE over your payments from the Kennedy and Bachmann campaigns. Mentioning publicly disclosed data and asking questions relating to that data is not necessarily an attack.  However did you happen to arrive at that mistaken conclusion?

Get it? Got it. Good.

Michael Brodkorb of MDE and other conservative henchmen stooges sycophants bloggers met with the President’s favorite turd blossom Karl Rove on Friday during the Überweasel’s visit to Minnesota.
By all accounts the hourlong blogger briefing was a hot ‘n’ heavy session of high level GOP strategy. Brodkorb was heard to murmur “Pinch me! I can’t believe this is really happening. He is just so totally bitchin’!” as he crouched in passion-drenched delirium at Rove’s side.

UPDATE:

later that day

Meanwhile, Moses caught the action from a different angle

Dispatch from the Uh-huh Institute

Polinaut reports that Michael Brodkorb of Minnesota Democrats Exposed is now working for the Mark Kennedy campaign. Since he doesn’t see any conflict of interest, he will continue to write MDE.
Did Brodkorb really say he can do this ’since his ideas are his own’?

Michael Brodkorb said that? The Michael Brodkorb I saw at the state DFL convention last week? Let’s refresh our memories, shall we?

Oh. That Michael Brodkorb.

DFL Confidential

UPDATE:

To sum it all up, I had a terrific time in Rochester last Saturday, even tho sitting in Bloggers Row all day left me mildly dehydrated and without any feeling in my legs … and with the sad realization that I can’t live-blog for shit.

Good thing the other kids don’t have that problem. All hail the mighty powers of the Powerliberals, DFLSenate, MN Publius, Minvolved, Centrisity. MN Campaign Report,U-DFL, s4xton, Minnesota Left, and, uhh, sorry if I forgot anybody. You all did great.
I must also mention the surprisingly affable Michael Brodkorb of MDE, who had the rotten luck to sit next to fat old cranky Me all day in the extremely cramped quarters up in the peanut gallery.  Me, as in:  me borrowing his laptop riser… me tripping over his power cords… me elbowing him in the face every five minutes…

Forget every icky thing you’ve heard about him — to put up with my obnoxiousness the guy’s gotta be a living saint!

I also very much enjoyed the theatrical entertainment he and his hangers-on put on for our benefit all afternoon. It really made those long between-ballots interludes fly by. The bit went like this: Some “complete stranger” sitting behind Brodkorb would say, in a very loud voice, with superb enunciation :

“Say! Wasn’t that you I heard on [Radio Wingnut] last week?” or

“Wow! Has anybody else asked you for your autograph so far today?” or

“Gee! Is that article in the Rochester paper about you?”

I kept waiting to hear:

“Golly Mister Brodkorb, what makes you so awesome?”

..but then the  DFLers inconveniently decided to endorse Hatch and that was the end of the lovefest.

And a lovefest it truly was, too. As Jon-David of MN Publius observed:

“Saturday, 6:45pm If you’re wondering exactly how wired in to the GOP structure Michael Brodkorb is, GOP State Chair Ron Carey has been sitting directly behind him all day. Miraculously, MDE has Carey’s statement about 2 minutes after Hatch won the endorsement. Can you say complete and total tool? Web-based mouthpiece in full.”

Now, now. There’s no need to be mean. That’s what we have  Republicans for.
