It took me a little while, but eventually I figured out that the little animation thingie they’re running at Yahoo today is the We Can Do It poster gal, and that means today must have some kind of womyn-y, hear me roar significance, and finally I remembered that today is March 8th and March 8th is International Women’s Day.

Wow, ladies — We get our own day! A day for our very own! A whole day!  All ours!  Ours, I tell you!  Our day!  Woo hooooo!

Therefore  in the spirit of plucky little Yahoo We Can Do It gal, and in honor of International Women’s Day –and not to mention because I’ve been tinkering around with it for a month or two–  here’s my latest work which for some obscure reason I call Monday Evening Tild.

If I had to pick a favorite Norman Rockwell painting,  Rosie the Riveter would be it.   I love her expression,  and her smudges.  Her penny loafered foot victorious atop Mein Kampf.  And her arms.  Those brawny biceps reveal her secret identity:   she’s actually one of Michelangelo’s sybils come down from the walls of the Sistine chapel to do a little slumming.

She is wonderful.

I’m not saying I look exactly like her, but there is a mild resemblance.   I have kinda the same hair color  (altho mine now has streaks of white and silver) and I certainly have the heft.   Your kindly old Auntie Tild is a big Scandie girl from Minnesota, after all.    Like we say in old country:    “strong like bull,  smart like tractor”.

And yes, as a matter of fact that is my Wacom Bamboo pen in place of Rosie’s rivet gun.  Thanks for asking!
